Upgrades/Service Packs

IMPORTANT - to "keep up with the program" it is important that you know about and run the service pack upgrades. These are normally posted on our website or can be mailed to you on request. Normally clients are notified of the service packs via email (if we have your address).

We have been advised that some of these emails have been going into Spam folders and are not being read. That is why we are using "hard copy" and email for this newsletter. Emailing is free and instant so that is why we want to use it. If you are receiving our emails - do nothing. If you aren't please have a look in your Junk E-Mail folder. If you find our email in your Junk E-Mail folder, right mouse click on our email, select "Junk E-mail" then "Add to safe sender list". This will ensure our future emails don't finish up as junk. It would pay everyone to visit our website www.iagri.com at least once every month because it is more dynamic than ever before and it is a great way to communicate with our clients.

Field Days Report

Toms UteThe National Field Days were worth the effort and all of our head office team were there. Our agent, Ben Plummer from the Management Tools Group joined us to promote his GPS mapping service. It was good to catch up with existing clients and meet potential new ones. We are still following up "leads" from the field days.

Website www.iagri.com

Over the past few months Duncan has been working on our website. It has been an interesting time trying to create our own profiles (ones we can publish for people to read!). We are looking to add testimonials to the site and to some of our publicity material so may approach some of you in the near future. If you are willing to volunteer a testimonial we would love to hear from you. A place worth checking on the website is the Tricks & Tips page. This is where we have listed common problems people encounter from time to time and their resolutions.

Pocket Diary Software

This has been improved and future proofed. It is being intensively tested at the moment. We have checked out most of the other PDA software in the market place and we can assure you, (with all due modesty) that ours is far more comprehensive than any of those we have looked at.

Help Us To Help You

PLEASE let us know if you are having problems with the program. We can only help you with/or fix the problem if you get in touch with us. Our goal is to keep you happy with the program! A lot of restructuring and future proofing of the program has been done "behind the scenes" and may go unnoticed by you. This massive rewriting has created one or two bugs, most of which have been sorted out with our Service Packs. The ease with which we can fix bugs or upgrade the program is one of the new features of the re-write. If you have a problem, don't put up with it. Let us know and if it hasn't already been fixed, we will fix it. If you have a suggestion, let us know. Remember the program has been built around the suggestions and ideas of our clients. One of the benefits of your subscription is free 0800 help - please use this service. 0800 617 788.

Remote Help

Broadband clients requiring our assistance can download a remote assistant tool from our web site, invite us to connect with them at the push of a button and allow us to manage their computer and fix the problem. Problems that once took an hour to fix over the phone, can now be solved in minutes. While the fix is in progress, broadband users can watch what's happening and talk to the help desk at the same time using the phone line. Once the job is done we disconnect and cannot reconnect unless invited to do so again by you. We have had some really positive comments regarding this exciting help feature.

Landmark License Expiry Dates

We have had enquiries regarding licenses expiring after subscriptions have been paid. The LandMark 2007 license automatically expires on an annual basis. The process is an essential part of our security system. Our aim when setting up the expiry dates is to have them expire a month or two after subs are due. We've tried to make license renewal a simple process. The program should give you a warning before it goes into the "expiry state" and this is when you should go to the "Tools" Menu "Update Licence" then select the "Request Activation Button". After you have entered your email address it is a simple process to send the email to us with your existing license details. We will respond by emailing the new code back to you with instructions to complete the activation. If this is too complicated for you, then don't hesitate to give the Help Desk a call.

Wagebook - tips

When you FIRST enter a new employee it is important that you enter their details into the address book (under the Tools menu). This will avoid the possibility of an error message which may appear if the details were to be entered through the Wagebook page. If you want to delete (therefore change) a committed pay make sure you delete the entry from the cashbook first.

Stock Reconciliation Report - tips

To get an opening "stock on hand" report, enter "opening stock" in Setup/Stock tab. Then go to Diary/Stock/Reconciliation/ New - then tick each mob and add a comment of e.g. Opening stock. Click OK. Then when you go to the Reports/ Reconciliation, the report will show all the stock and the stock numbers. Remember each time any stock are brought/sold/died they have to be entered into the Stock diary/reconciliation to keep your records accurate.

Subscription Renewal Forms

Please remember to complete and return subscription renewal forms if they are sent to you with your subscription invoices.

Rural Administrators

We currently have two rural administrators (and more in prospect) - Lee Brehaut (South Island) & Ben Plummer (North Island). They're busy getting the service up and running. You can find out more about this service on our Website but feel free to give us a call if you want to know more or if you are interested in becoming one.

Backing Up

In Landmark 2007 backing up to a memory stick has been made incredibly easy to achieve. As was the case in Version 4, you not only get a backup on your memory stick or other media but you also have a backup made on your hard drive in the "My Documents" Folder. What is different is that the Backup no longer overwrites the old files, (as it used to when backing up to the old Floppy discs) but now stores the files with a new name each time made unique by adding a date to the file name. e.g. Tingatui060308.zip. (6th March 08). This is more assuring as the old files are not deleted before each back-up process. When and if the list of Backup Files gets too long it is a simple process to use "Windows Explore" to select and delete the oldest files from the list.
